How to apply

We’re excited that you are considering joining our team at Joint Force Command Norfolk (JFC Norfolk). To make the application process seamless, we use Taleo, a user-friendly platform that allows you to apply for positions and manage your profile effortlessly.

Taleo applications must be completed using the official NATO languages in either English or French. Any applications completed in other languages will not be considered.

The work at JFC Norfolk is mainly conducted in the English Language.

STEP 1 : Application

Timeline: 3-4 weeks

We accept applications through our e-recruitment system TALEO. You can search for open vacancies without logging in by clicking Vacancies. If a position looks like a good fit for you, please create a candidate profile to apply for this position. Applications are posted for 30 days.


 STEP 2 : Screening

Shortlisting – Timeline: 2-3 weeks

After the closing date, your application will be reviewed. You will not hear from the Recruitment Team until this step is complete. Please be patient while this process is taking place. You will be notified via e-mail regardless of the outcome of your application.

STEP 3 : Interview

Depending on the position you applied for, you might be asked immediately for a written assessment and a video assessment, without taking a test or recording a video interview.


   STEP 4 : Offer

Timeline: 2-4 weeks

You will hear about the status of your application only after the Chief of Staff has authorized the appointment. Please note that we will inform you regardless of the outcome of your application, but this may take up to 2-4 weeks. All of our communication is done via e-mail so ensure you check your e-mail at regular intervals. If you are selected for the position, congratulations! If you accept our tentative offer, we will start medical and security clearance procedures.


   STEP 5 : Clearances

Timeline: on average 6 months

Staff members must fulfil certain conditions under NATO Civilian Personnel Regulations (CPR).


   STEP 6 : Joining

After we have received your medical and security clearance, a member of the Recruitment Team will act as a liaison between you and your future manager to set a start date and appoint a sponsor to ensure a smooth transition into your new role at JFC Norfolk.
